Newcomer inclusion – Mississauga

More and more employers recognize the business case for diversity and inclusion and are actively encouraged to hire newcomers into their organizations. However, they often experience some challenges when recruiting and integrating immigrants into their workplaces such as language skills, foreign credentials and work experience. In this session, our diversity and inclusion expert, Cathy Gallagher-Louisy, will share with you some tools and knowledge you need to get your organization results.

At this event, we’ll discuss:

  • promising practices in developing individual and organizational cultural competence,
  • promising practices in recruiting, retaining, and engaging new Canadians in your workplace.

Where possible, we will co-host this event with a local immigrant focused organization.

About the presenter:

Cathy Gallagher-Louisy is the Senior Director, Consulting for the CCDI. She leads the CCDI’s research and knowledge services portfolio and also provides consulting and training services to CCDI partner organizations and clients, developing and delivering strategic D&I and cultural competence strategies, programs, initiatives, training, and developmental tools. Cathy is an experienced diversity and inclusion (“D&I”) and Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) professional with over twenty years’ experience in program development and leadership, project management, and human resources roles within corporate, government, and non-profit organizations.
