In our last Community of Practice events, we engaged participants in an exercise of crafting the ultimate business case for diversity and inclusion – a business case so solid that it will be impossible to ignore.
In our first Community of Practice sessions of 2014 we take the next step – tackling the steps to creating a diversity strategy. During the session, participants will be broken into groups that will each focus on pieces of the strategy. What should be included? What shouldn’t?
In advance, participants will be provided with pre-reading based on the anticipated sections of the document, and encouraged to familiarize themselves with their organization’s strategic plan. Additionally, they will be encouraged to bring any existing D&I strategy documents they have to be included as part of the work.
Out of the session, participants will receive a template document, based on the work from their session and the other Community of Practice events across the country, which they can customize to suit their specific organization. While participants will still have to do some tailoring to the strategy to be appropriate for their exact situation, they will have the building blocks to create a road map for success!
