Gender in the workplace – Edmonton

It all starts with terminology – learn the difference between sex and gender, and the different terms that are associated with gender training in the workplace. Discussions will cover areas such as gender sensitivity, gender equality, gender equity and gender intelligence, as well as genders other than male or female.

This informative session will address the myths and the research that run contrary and the fundamental operation of gender in work decisions and processes.

About the presenter:

CCDI Team photo - Deanna Matzanke Deanna Matzanke is the Director, Measurement and Analytics for CCDI. She is a bilingual Strategic HR and Diversity Professional and employment lawyer with over 20 years’ experience in all aspects of minority inclusion and employment systems and practices. She is a certified Global Professional in Human Resources (from the Human Resources Certification Institute) and holds her Human Capital Strategist designation (with the Human Capital Institute). She also specializes in Human Resources Policy and Compliance Frameworks. She is a sought after keynote speaker, panelist and workshop facilitator on all aspects of diversity, inclusion and human resources. Most recently, she acted as the head of Diversity and Inclusion in the Global HR function at Scotiabank where she was responsible for a wide range of employment strategies.
