Newcomer inclusion – Toronto

More and more employers recognize the business case for diversity and inclusion and are actively encouraged to hire newcomers. However, they often experience some challenges when recruiting and integrating immigrants into their workplaces. These challenges may include: language skills, foreign credentials and work experience. In this session, our diversity and inclusion experts will share with you the tools and knowledge you need to get results.

At this event, we’ll discuss:

  • promising practices in developing individual and organizational cultural competence,
  • promising practices in recruiting, retaining and engaging new Canadians in your workplace.

Where possible, we will co-host this event with a local immigrant focused organization.

This event is for  leaders, managers, or designated employees involved or interested in the planning and executing of diversity and equity strategies that may pertain to newcomer integration.

About the presenter:

CCDI Team photo - Susan Rogers Susan Rogers is the Chief Client Officer with CCDI. She is a proactive and respected leader with in-depth and broad experience in leading diversity and inclusion initiatives. Prior to joining CCDI, Susan had a 20+ year professional career with Xerox which included several years in sales, marketing, management and human resources. At Xerox, Susan directed and oversaw Diversity & Inclusion nationally to ensure the organization was an employer and supplier of choice through the promotion of the organization to corporate Canada, and through leading the organization in the achievement of numerous forms of external D&I recognition, including being named one of Canada’s Top Employers for Diversity and one of Canada’s Best Employers for New Canadians.
