CCDI Webinar: Indigenous inclusion

We will help debunk some myths and give you access to data and information to help you build solid relationships with your local Indigenous community.

This session will also provide you with the opportunity for peer learning, to share best practices or emerging ideas. You will also learn practical approaches to evaluate and augment your current strategy or to begin the development of your strategy.

About the presenter:

Lee Walker is an Algonquin of Pikwakanagan First Nation, she recently retired from a successful 28-year long career at Scotiabank, Lee offers a wealth of experience as it relates to Indigenous initiatives and inclusion. Most recently, Lee held the positon of National Director for Aboriginal Financial Services and she worked tirelessly to champion the value of Indigenous People in the financial sector, always acting as a significant change leader. Lee has been recognized for her hard work and effort as she was awarded the Initiator Award by Inclusion Works, this award is given to an individual who has been instrumental in the business case for Indigenous Inclusion in the workplace at an organization-wide level. During her time at Scotiabank, she worked closely with former Prime Minister, Paul Martin with the Martin Aboriginal Education Initiative, made invaluable contributions to Scotiabank’s Indigenous programs such as the Scotiabank Aboriginal Network (Employee Resource Group), the Aboriginal Peer Mentoring Program, community programs and other initiatives specifically designed for Indigenous employees and clients.
