Bill Dodd is the Director for Mayagwe, an online application that matches organizations with trained, local interpreters who provide language services.
Before joining the CCDI team, he was a member of the Calgary Police Service for 25 years. Bill has worked in various areas of the Service including front-line policing, support services (K9), professional standards and community and youth services. He received awards and recognition for his work including the Distinguished Service award.
During his six years as Sergeant of the Calgary Police Services Diversity Resources team, Bill advocated for incorporating diversity and inclusion practices into community-based policing. Bill and his team helped build better relationships between the Police Service and Calgary’s diverse communities. They introduced changes to internal organizational processes, which embraced diversity as an asset. In his most recent role with the Calgary Police Service, Bill was project manager for the Calgary Police Language Services Initiative.
Bill holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary in Political Science and Law. He is an active community volunteer coach. Bill is a loving husband and father of two energetic girls. He has two equally energetic dogs that keep him active.
