Renée Bazile-Jones


A strategic, results-oriented change leader with a broad scope of business experience, Ms. Bazile-Jones is known in both Canada and the United States for her work in diversity and inclusion management, strategic planning, and the management of change.

Renée is an expert equity, diversity and inclusion trainer with deep experience and skills including:

  • Extensive experience developing and delivering customized training in the areas of equity, diversity, and inclusion;
  • Design and delivery of numerous (well over 2,000 over the course of her career) training sessions, using adult education principles and inclusive curriculum design, delivery and facilitation methods.
  • The ability to create safe learning environments where participants are engaged, challenged, and supported in their learning.
  • A deep commitment to each learner for their growth as professionals.

Renée is an expert on issues of workplace harassment. She has over 30 years of experience working with such Fortune 500 companies as Xerox, AT&T, and Shell Canada, and such public sector organizations as the Ontario Ministry of Government Services, the City of Guelph, and the Peel District School Board.

In the 1990s Renée was the Executive Director of Communications and Public Education with the Ontario Employment Equity Commission. While at the Commission, Renée developed the training program for employers on employment equity and diversity.  Prior to becoming an independent consultant, she also worked as a management consultant with Price Waterhouse Associates and William M. Mercer.

Renée has written and consulted extensively on how the world of work will change in the future, and was a featured speaker at the Couchiching Institute of Public Affairs’ planning forum on The Future World of Work.  Renée co-authored “Measuring the Impact of Diversity”, an issues paper co-funded by the Society of Management Accountants of Canada and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.  She has recently published articles on Aspects of Sexism and Workplace Harassment for the publication Controllership Alert.

She is a sought-after speaker and guest lecturer on D&I and change management in both Canada and the United States, and was featured in the March 2001 issue of Canadian Business magazine.  Her contribution as a featured writer to “Staff Planning in a Time of Demographic Change” was published in 2005. Renée was featured in January 2009 on the CBC program The National, commenting on the U.S. election of Barack Obama.

Her public service appointments include her founding seat on the United Way of America’s Environmental Scanning Committee, her seat on the Board of Directors for LOVE (Leave-Out Violence), a not-for-profit organization targeting troubled youth and her seat on the Board of Nightwood Theatre.
