Akinkunmi Akinnola, MBA

Akinkunmi Akinnola is a strategic communications professional with a career spanning 15 years in the advertising, energy, and non-profit sectors.

He began his career as a client service executive with Saatchi & Saatchi – a global communications and advertising agency offering business development and brand consulting services to a number of leading international CPG organizations including Procter & Gamble, Nestle S.A and HP.

He crossed over to the client side with Sahara Group Limited a leading international oil & gas company where he had the opportunity to function across a number of departments and roles including operations and finance before culminating his career in the corporate and strategic communications department where he led and transformed the organization by increasing its reach and capacity through media relations, stakeholder engagement and a content strategy overhaul.

As part of the communications team, he worked on a number of high-level international projects to drive increased global sustainability with leading multilateral agencies including the UN and the World Economic Forum.

He has lived and worked in five countries including Nigeria, the UK and Switzerland in the last fifteen years and considers his opportunity to increase his cultural competency and utilize it towards achieving organizational strategic objectives to be one of his greatest assets on a professional and personal level.

Akinkunmi holds a Bsc. (Hons) in Business Management & Marketing from Brunel University, London, UK and a Global MBA from IE Business School, Madrid Spain. He qualified as a certified Public Relations practitioner from the London School of Public Relations in 2018.

Akinkunmi is a noted public speaker, professional moderator and published freelance writer. He is a senior volunteer at Canadian Club Toronto.

His passions include travelling, meeting new people and discovering new experiences.
