Laurel joins CCDI as Manager of Learning, with a dedicated interest in improving the lives and experiences of individuals throughout communities by means of championing equity within the charitable, public and private sector. She is responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of inclusion and diversity learning solutions. Laurel leads large and small learning projects from start to finish, driving knowledge, change strategies, and equity, diversity and inclusion integration.
Laurel brings five years of experience in learning and development, project management, change management, and equity, diversity and inclusion strategies. She brings an additional nine years of experience as a Community Social Worker where she specialized in delivering, developing and managing programs, services and community development initiatives in inner city communities. Laurel loves to employ creative strategies to improve knowledge transfer, education and learning strategies.
Laurel possesses a Masters degree in Social Work, a Bachelors of Arts in Equity Studies from the University of Toronto, and a Masters Certificate in Organizational Development and Change from the Schulich School of Business.
Laurel values work-life balance and for fun engages in stroller jogging races with her little one, bicycling, and beach volleyball. She is also an avid traveler, piano player and lover of music and theatre.
