This privacy policy sets out how the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (“CCDI”) collects, uses, protects, retains and disposes of any information that you give CCDI when you register to the Certification process to become a Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional™ (“Certification”).

CCDI is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified as part of the Certification, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

CCDI may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page periodically to familiarize yourself with any changes. This policy is effective from May 19, 2017.

What we collect

We may collect the following information:

  • name, job title and current employer;
  • contact information including email address, phone number, mail address;
  • demographic information such as postal code, preferences and interests;
  • information on your career history including but not limited to past employers, job titles/positions, roles and responsibilities, narrative examples of relevant professional experiences and competent performance;
  • information on your references and External Assessor (name, job title, employer, contact information);
  • Information on the results of your Examination.

What we do with the information we gather

We will use this information to verify whether you meet the standard requirements to earn the Certification and become a Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional™. We will also use this information to provide you with a better service, and in particular for internal record keeping and for the following reasons:

  • We will share your personal and professional information with the provider of the Examination so that you can be granted access to the examination platform
  • We will use the information to contact you regarding the Certification and related Services
  • We may share your information, exam results and documentation with the Certification staff, the Certification Advisory Committee, your references, and the External Assessor that you have identified, as needed as part of the operations of the Certification
  • We may periodically send promotional email about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided. You may opt-out of receiving promotional emails at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the email we send you
  • We may use the information to customize and improve the Certification and collateral products
  • Once you have met the requirements for the Certification, we will publish your name and contact information on our online Registry of Canadian Certified Inclusion Professionals™
  • We may use this information for analytical, statistical and research purposes
  • We may use this information to promote the Certification and related Services

Further, we may de-identify the information in a manner that it cannot identify you. We use aggregate information to help us better understand our services and for the purposes identified in this privacy policy.

Disclosure

We may employ third party service providers to assist us in providing our Services (e.g. exam delivery, data hosting, marketing, etc.). These third parties have limited access to your personal information and only use the information on our behalf and not for other purposes.

We may disclose your name and Certification status/number on our CCDI Registry and/or to third parties who request confirmation of the status of your Certification.

How we protect your information

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. We will never sell your information.

How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyze web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyze data about web page traffic and improve the website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Removal, retention and disposal

When you register to the Certification, you consent to CCDI’s collection, retention and use of your personal information for the purposes described in this policy. You also authorize us to use and retain this personal information for as long as it may be required for the purposes described above.

If you wish to request that your personal information be removed from our servers, you may contact CCDI through the contact information listed at the end of this document. CCDI will remove information as requested. Removal of a user’s personal information may prevent us from providing further Services and information to the user.
