GIDA - Sustaining Inclusion in a Changing World

Event Type : Webinars
Starts at August 12, 2025 1:00 PM Eastern
Finishes at August 12, 2025 2:00 PM Eastern

DEIA champions around the world are navigating a difficult moment not just in policy and perception, but also in energy and resilience, as the world seems to turn sharply against values many of us believed were becoming foundational. The work feels heavier. The resistance more organized. And yet, the need for inclusion has never been more urgent.

This year’s Global Inclusion and Diversity Alliance (GIDA) panel brings together leaders from national membership bodies in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, and Aotearoa New Zealand to reflect on what’s shifting, what’s at stake, and how we carry this work forward with courage and care.

This webinar will be followed by a live Q&A hosted by CCDI’s Board Chair, Marni Panas, and Vice-President of Engagement, Anne-Marie Pham.

Panel includes:

  • Marni Panas - Chair of the Board, Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion
  • Jeiz Robles – Director DE&I, Community Business (Hong Kong)
  • Maretha Smit – CEO, Te Uru Tāngata Centre for Workplace Inclusion (New Zealand)
  • Déjealous Palota-Kopa Advisory Services Consultant, Te Uru Tāngata Centre for Workplace Inclusion (New Zealand)

Hosts of the Q&A:

  • Anne-Marie Pham – Vice-President, Engagement, Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion
  • Marni Panas – Chair of the Board, Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion

We’ll explore:

  • What DEIA leaders are seeing and experiencing across different regions
  • How the narrative around DEIA is being distorted, and how we reclaim it
  • Practical ways organizations are adapting without losing their values
  • The quiet toll of this moment on DEIA professionals and how we support each other
  • Why workplaces may be our best hope for rebuilding social trust and cohesion
  • Whether you’re feeling energized or exhausted, hopeful or hesitant - this conversation is for you.

NOTE:
