Sonia Sangha (she, her)

Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leader at IKEA

As a first-generation Indo-Canadian who grew up in B.-C., Sonia Sangha’s (she/her) journey of navigating between cultures has profoundly shaped her DEI work. She blends storytelling with trends and data to promote understanding, empathy and drive meaningful change.

At IKEA, Sonia has led initiatives such as the Anti-Racism Equality Is a Human Right program in Canada, IKEA’s Global DEI Learning approaches, and Mitigating Bias integration. She co-created IKEA's Refugee Skills for Employment Initiative with the UN Refugee Agency.

Sonia holds a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design, certifications in Leadership and Inclusion from CCDI, and in Advanced Gender Diversity at TransFocus. She has presented for the Tent Foundation and Pride at Work, and discussed the rise of anti-South Asian hate in Canada on Leader Talks with Anne-Marie Pham.

With an intersectional lens, a curious soul, and a down-to-earth approach, Sonia creates connections between communities, convinced no action is too small to count in our collective pursuit of belonging.
